I'm Stephen Gomm and I've been interested in art for as long as I can remember. I fact my ambition as a child was to an artist, then later a graphic designer. I remember talking to the careers teacher at school and being told that carpentry was a much better route to take. I didn't listen and have managed to keep at least one foot in the art business for the last 20 years or so. Most of my art is design based and usually for the internet. I still enjoy working with traditional mediums, when possible. In this high tech age of downloads and digital media alot of my work is generated electronicly. I know some people think this is cheating or that it isn't real art, the fact is it still takes hours and attention to detail. Some pieces are refined over long periods, just like traditional mediums. The main advantage to using technology is the ease of delivery and the flexibility of the finished product. The artwork can be repoduced of a variety on materials from photo paper to canvas and also in a number of sizes. So I feel justified in creating artwork that is readily available and flexible. I hope you'll agree with me.
